Feel Good Birdos

Birdo has lent his talent to Feel Good Lane.

I’ve been a huge fan of his for 6 years. I’ve met him at least 5 times, once in an art supplies store. He remembered me, and is very sweet. ❦

There was a car parked, so I did my best to capture this adorable piece, in a window’s reflection.

The Artist: Birdo (aka Jerry Rugg)

This alley was painted as a tribute to Barry Luksenberg, who performed under the name “Feel Good”. At 24, he was killed in a motorcycle accident while travelling across Vietnam with a friend.

Love the fun in this mural. Wish we had wall artists here that were encouraged to spice up the wall space around here. That would certainly make it a more interesting place.

    1. All you need is to give permission for artists to paint on your wall/garage door. The paint is pricey, but eventually, hopefully, the city would support it.
Nonetheless, no one can tell you how to paint your property.

Thank you Resa! I hadn’t thought of that. I do believe I’ll put my garage door on the free canvas list and see what happens.

    1. It the same alley as 2 posts ago … Butterfly Eyes.
If it wasn’t so cold out, I’d be walking around looking fo art. As it is, I’m working on my next Art Gown, and some sketches. 😀

    1. Thank you! Using reflections is a tool I picked up awhile ago. Many, many works are in parking lots. There’s no such thing as an empty parking lot in Toronto!

  2. There’s always a car in the way, isn’t there? Couldn’t you pick it up and throw it away? That’s what I’d have done. You can’t let good art like this get wasted by cars.

    1. Erm… no I tried lifting the darn car, but one of my arms fell off. I had to shoot the piece with one hand. Don’t worry, I’m sure there’s a reattachment product out there somewhere!

    1. You’re welcome & my pleasure, Terri! If I didn’t have blog pals to share it with, I’m not sure what I would do with it. I’m so glad there’s pals out here to enjoy the art with me.

    1. Chirpity chirp caw .. caww… oops the old crow in me just slipped out! 😀 😀 😀

  4. Ooops! Nearly missed this one, Resa.. It’s very sweet, tweet tweet..
He, Birdo, is very special. I do love his art. Do you think he’d pop down to Oz and paint my garage door? Hehe.. I wish… 🙂
    xoxoxo

    1. Yeah, the nerve of people parking their cars in front of art. The least they could do is get a car wash, so the reflections are sharper! 😉
