🎶Squirrels in White Satin🎶

It’s news to me! We have White Squirrels in Toronto.

They seem only to be in Trinity Bellwoods Park. Yay! I live very close to the park, and will now be scouting the white squirrel.

I was wondering why an artist had chosen to paint the squirrels white, on this garage door.

They are rare.

One was found dead a couple of years ago, and the white squirrel people went crazy.

I hope I get to see one!

    1. I so thought of you making this post. This song you adore was the inspiration for the title. Thank you for the link to the song by Moody Blues!
Okay, I’ll be there on Tuesday!

    1. There is actually a white squirrel, although very rare in the world. No one is sure weather Toronto’s white squirrels are of the white breed or albino. I’m floored by their beauty! OMG! ❤

“Squirrels in white satin. Never reaching the end…” They are gorgeous and so is the mural. There were black squirrels in Ritiro (a large park in Madrid, Spain) that would climb up on us to beg for food. I have never seen a white squirrel.

    1. …. and I have never seen a black squirrel!
The song “Knights in White Satin” is a classic gem!
I’m so glad you like squirrels! I know people call them tree rats, but nary a squirrel has ever freaked me out. Rats, are a different story.
We have red squirrels, and other brown ones in our back yard.
You know, I have never seen a chipmunk. I would love to see a chipmunk!

We have lots of chipmunks in the mountains in the desert southwest. They seem to prefer higher altitudes Like 7,000 to 12,000 feet above sea level. I like rats and squirrels and pretty much all animals. We have ground squirrels around the property who like to sit in front of the window from time to time.

They like higher altitudes in these parts. Not sure what they like farther north. I live at 5,000 feet and I’ve never see any in my neck of the woods.

    2. I was over on your blog. I left a comment on the cranes post. Then, suddenly I could not comment on the balloons post. Then I went back to the cranes post to let you know, and couldn’t post there!
I don’t blame you for being frustrated.
Anyway, I just wanted to say the balloons are art!
I didn’t get put into your Spam folder? That causes many problems. I try to check mine regularly.

Hi Resa. Zenfolio as been having problems. For awhile no one could comment. They are still working on other problems that have me very frustrated with them at the moment. It’s probably easiest for you to comment on WP.

        1. I do comment on WP, but I am having problems commenting on several WP blogs. I’ve asked everyone to check if I am in their Spam folders. If not, it’s a WP glitch, and they usually clear up in several days.

  2. They are amazing, Resa. Your next post is one where you feed it with strawberries. Squirrels love strawberries 🙂 but I don’t know about the white ones 🙂

    1. TY, Elizabeth! ❤ I was just on your blog, could like but not comment. It's probably just a WP glitch that will clear up in a few days.
      Your photos are gorgeous.

  3. Such a cutie-pie, Resa.. 🙂
We don’t have squirrels here in Oz; more the pity, they are gorgeous! When we were in London last year I took some happy snaps of the squirrels in Hyde Park. The londoners must think it’s pretty crazy (to take pics); they are such an integral part of life there! As they must be for you; except, of course, for these beautiful white ones…
I do hope you get to see them, or one, or lots… Hahaaa.. 😀
    xoxoxo

    1. Huh, no squirrels in Oz!
It’s hard to believe there is any place on earth that doesn’t have squirrels.
I WILL see a white squirrel, even if I have to carry a bag of peanuts with me for the rest of my life! 😀 xoxoxo

  4. Beautiful art work and photos, Resa! I’ve never heard of a white squirrel, either, but they’re gorgeous! There’s so much we don’t know. 🙂 But we learn something new every day! Wonderful! xo

    1. I was by the white squirrel park yesterday, but didn’t have time to stop and squirrel watch. Perhaps this is why there is still so much to learn? We don’t have time to learn. We are just busy doing. 😀 xo
Saw you’ve been to Art Gowns. I’ll be back over there in a couple of days. I know it sounds a bit crazy, but both my blogs have different log ins, and I can’t be on both at once.

  5. They’re gorgeous! I’ve seen red squirrels, grey and black, but never white ones. What’s also gorgeous is the striking background colour of camo oranges, yellows and reds for them to play on. Bravo to Karen Roberts and thanks to you for posting :)x

    1. OMG! Can’t believe I missed this comment!
Yes, it really is a very pretty garage door. I’m always blown away by the unique ideas from different artists! 😀 x

Cuteness overload!!! Good luck on your hunt for the mystical white squirrel! In Vancouver, they’re mostly grey or black. xoxo

  7. I like these cheerful colors. Albino squirrel eyes are actually red, not black 🙂 You can see it in the photograph. It makes me think that these squirrels are very very rare. Probably it is the only such family in Toronto 🙂

    1. An entire family has been spotted. One was found dead a few years ago, now many more have been seen and photographed.
Torontonians are crazy about these squirrels! 😀

      1. Poor creatures are so vulnerable since predators can see them from afar. If their numbers grow, they will have a chance to survive. White Toronto Squirrel, wishing you a long and happy life! 🙂

      1. Yeah, good point! I’d be the hamster graf gangsta. I hear Toronto is pricy, so we’d have to see there. But I did my IELTS English test today. One of the weirdest experiences I’ve ever had. She kept asking me about shoes during the speaking portion… shoes!

          1. NO! I haven’t. Looks good, though. I don’t want to get ahead of myself, anyway. Yonks off yet. I might not even clear the Express Entry stuff. I’ve been arrested 337 times, for instance.

              1. No. No, I wasn’t. To be fair, Toronto is pricey but it’s nowhere near as bad as London. It looks like, anyway. I’m keeping all options open. Except Montreal. As I don’t speak le Frenchness.

Speak your art mind!
